Welcome and thanks for visiting!

I am a board certified and licensed art therapist (NJ and NY), as well as a certified supervisor, which allows me to provide clinical supervision to other art therapists in pursuit of their credentials.

As an art therapist, I offer a creative approach to the exploration of emotional, behavioral, relational and family issues within a safe, comfortable, casual space.  I use a combination of creative approaches to assist with expression of thoughts and feelings including visual arts, creative writing, and creative play.  Many assume that skill or training in these areas is necessary in order to participate in art therapy, but this is a common misconception! In art therapy, the focus is not on the product or artwork created so much as on the PROCESS of creating it.  Within the creative process, feelings, connections, ideas, and responses will guide you toward new insights into your experiences.

Art making is especially effective in work with children, teens, and families.  The use of art making adds a dimension of communication and expression that is not offered in other forms of psychotherapy.  As art therapy is non-threatening, survivors of trauma also benefit from this process.  I offer a casual and comfortable space, where youth and adults can comfortably address concerns, work toward goals, and creatively explore their experiences at a comfortable pace.
